From High-Rise to Dream Home: Jonathan’s Heights Transformation

What could be more exciting than moving from a one-bedroom high-rise to a brand-new million-dollar home in the Heights?

That’s exactly what our design client Jonathan did when he closed on his home this past January.

It wasn’t always this picture-perfect. When we first stepped in, it was a blank canvas waiting to be brought to life. We divided and conquered the spaces—starting with the essential living room, then the kitchen, office, bedrooms, and finally, the upstairs flex rooms. It may sound like a long journey, but the Native Citizen team delivered on a tight schedule for Jonathan’s peace of mind.

“What was the easiest and hardest part of the design process?” I asked him.

“The easiest part was the convenience, fast turnaround, decision-making, and especially the white glove service,” he said.

If you’re unfamiliar with our design passport, our team handles the full setup and installation of your furniture, art, and decor with expert attention to detail. We quickly hung artwork in every room of Jonathan’s home. It was the finishing touch that made this space come alive.

“The hardest part was the decision-making at first with this blank canvas,” Jonathan added. “But Will made it easy with his system—four curated furniture options for each space, all pre-approved by him as the designer.”

That’s how Native Citizen was able to turn his house into a home in just five months—and not just any home, but one that reflects Jonathan’s lifestyle and personality.

My first impression of Jonathan?

He struck me as someone active and social—he had just come home from a day of golfing on the Fourth of July. His living room was designed to seat up to 16 people, perfect for hosting. A happy accident? The statement stone table fit perfectly at an angle between the sofa and the kitchen island, now the ideal setup for board game nights with friends.

Every corner of the home serves a purpose. A new bookshelf fits snugly into a crevice in the living room. Outdoor furniture was arranged for seamless movement in and out of the backyard. Even the vines now climbing his fence feel symbolic—his home, and his life, are growing into something beautiful. You can tell how much Jonathan loves his space, not just in how he uses it, but in how he shares it.

This could easily be his forever home, and he can imagine that too.
