— but that didn’t slow us down inside Native Citizen Home. The energy was alive despite the rain as we welcomed back the annual Houston Plug Event, curated by the incomparable Shawnte Thomas (aka Shawnte the Realtor).
This event has become a staple on our calendar — not just for the incredible people it draws in, but for the intention behind every interaction. Shawnte has a way of turning a casual gathering into something deeper.
“I’m just using my God-given gift to plug people to others,” she told us that night.
More than 50 guests came through bringing purpose, creativity, and passion. We connected with photographers, nonprofit leaders, real estate professionals, and local brand owners — all under one roof. (See who attended on our Instagram!)
Our Native Citizen “home” transformed into something special. Guests flowed through the space with ease, lounged on our couches, gathered around dining tables, and tucked into the long benches nestled behind the seating areas. Every corner felt like its own living room scene with laughter spilling over, drinks in hand, and conversations you didn’t want to interrupt.
It’s always a joy to open our doors to people and events that align with our values: authenticity, creativity, and community. Shawnte, who we’ve had the pleasure of working with before, embodies those values completely. We’re honored to continue this collaboration and provide a space where Houstonians feel at home — a home designed for active, everyday living, curated with our Four Hands furniture collection.
Until next time. Rain or shine, we’ll be here.

That’s exactly what our design client Jonathan did when he closed on his home this past January. It wasn’t always this picture-perfect. When we first stepped in, it was a blank canvas waiting to be brought to life.

Kids with markers, pets with muddy paws, wine with no coasters. That’s why we love Crypton®, the performance fabric that acts like invisible armor for your furniture.
